Can I use the software without update subscription ?

Our Update Subscription is not a compulsory service (except in the case of cloud hosting; and otherwise, our rental package includes subscription). You can therefore purchase a software license without a subscription, or cancel your subscription at any time (subject to the cancellation period ).

However, if you use the software without a subscription, you will lose the following advantages:

  • Free access to our hotline. Without subscription, to call our support service, you dial a premium-rate number costing more than CHF 3.- per minute.
  • You can no longer install software updates. In the medium term, this can become problematic, because if you remain with a "frozen" version of the software, its gradual obsolescence may render it incompatible with new computers requiring a recent version of the operating system (Windows or Mac), or with legal changes not supported by your old program. As a result, you may need to urgently purchase a software update to keep it running to your satisfaction. However, the cost of this update will be equal to or greater than the subscription fees saved.

In our experience, using our software without a subscription is financially unattractive in the long term, and puts your data at risk if it becomes inaccessible due to an out-of-date version of the software. The cost of the subscription probably represents the smallest part of your overall investment (consisting of the purchase of hardware and software, and the time spent entering your data), so saving on this item doesn't make sense to us.
