How do I define and modify foreign currency exchange rates ?
By definition, currencies are subject to frequent fluctuations in their exchange rates. It is therefore necessary to modify these exchange rates regularly.
The history of exchange rates can be viewed in the Exchange Rates file, which is accessible via the Data menu.
When the exchange rate of a currency is modified, the new rate must be the subject of a new record in the Exchange Rates file.
There are several ways to update the exchange rates:
- By creating an Exchange Rate record, via the Action>New command in the Exchange Rates file.
- By updating the exchange rates of all the currencies, via the Action>Update rates command in the Currencies file.
- With OM Finance PRO, the updating of exchange rates can be completely automated using the Job Scheduler (accessible in Maintenance via the Maintenance>Job Scheduler command).
