Use of Salary lines

The Salary Lines file is only accessible in the PRO version of Office Maker Staff.

This file contains all the lines of all the salary records calculated by the program for all employees. It can be used to produce statistics on one or more salary types in a set of salary records.

The Salary Lines file contains data that forms an integral part of the Salary records. For each salary record, Office Maker Staff calculates a set of values based on the assembly and the variables assigned to the employees.

Salaries are generated automatically by the program, and the values calculated in these salary records cannot be modified. This is why the records in the Salary Lines file cannot be modified either.

The Salary Lines file is mainly used for statistical purposes. For example, it is possible to isolate all types of "Commissions on sales" salaries for any number of employees (typically, salespeople in a given department(s) or subsidiary(ies)), and then print a report containing sub-totals according to the criteria of your choice (by salesperson, by department, by period, etc.).

You can use the report generator to define your own customized print formats. By associating a search formula with a customized report, you can automate the selection of key records, greatly simplifying print production.
