What is a Product Bundle?
The Product Bundles file allows you to define an Item as being composed of other items. The record of a product bundle can be considered as a nomenclature of the items used as components to create the product bundle.
This possibility is different from the one that consists in linking secondary items to a main item.
When you define a Product Bundle, you are in fact creating a new item, which will appear in the parts as a single line, without showing the components. Each Product Bundle record corresponds to an Item record in the Items-Services file.
The definition of a new Product Bundle record, the fixing or modification of its composition, does not generate any Stock Movements. After these operations, the quantity in stock of the product bundle (in the Item record corresponding to the product bundle) is zero.
For the bundle to become available, the necessary components must be withdrawn from stock, in the required quantity, in order to form the product bundle as such. This operation will be carried out using the Assemble command. To carry out the reverse operation, you will use the Disassemble command. These operations generate Stock Movements for the components as well as for the product bundle itself.
It is not possible to modify the composition of a product bundle when its stock quantity is greater than zero. If this composition must be modified anyway, it is necessary to first Disassemble, which then allows the list of Components to be modified, and then to Assemble again.
The deletion of a record in the Product Bundles file is only allowed if its stock quantity is zero.
