The Change period dialog

The client version of the software can only open one file at a time. If you are using Finance or Staff, the File>Change period command is useful for switching to another accounting year (for the record, Finance and Staff manage each fiscal year in a separate data file).

When this command is called, the following dialog is displayed:

The list of available periods is displayed, whether from the same or different companies. Select the desired exercise, then click on OK to open it.

Please note: switching to another period is only possible if only one user is logged in.

Organization of data files

In order to make the change of exercise possible, it is necessary to organize the file structure on the server according to a very precise pattern:

Each exercise must be located in a folder with the same name as the data file. This name must be standardized as follows:

[OMF/OMS]_[Company name]_[Fiscal year]

Ainsi, dans l'exemple ci-dessus (Finance), les dossiers sont organisés comme ceci :

• Folder "OMF_Swiss_Watches_2024" containing the "OMS_Swiss_Watches_2024.4DD" file
• Folder "OMF_Swiss_Watches_2023" containing the "OMS_Swiss_Watches_2023.4DD" file
• Folder "OMF_Swiss_Watches_2022" containing the "OMS_Swiss_Watches_2022.4DD" file
• Folder "OMF_Helsinop_2023" containing the "OMS_Helsinop_2023.4DD" file
• Folder "OMF_Helsinop_2022" containing the "OMS_Helsinop_2022.4DD" file

All these folders are located at the same level on the server disk.

For Staff, replace in the above example "OMF" with "OMS".
