How do I print a tax certificate for employees subject to source tax?

Some cantons - such as Geneva - require the printing of a certificate for employees subject to source tax.

To do this, from the Employees file, select the relevant employees, then call up the File>Print command. Then select the ST Certificate print format.

The options dialog box for this print format contains several objects:

  • Selection of Cantons: each canton linked to an employee subject to source tax appears as a checkbox.
  • Generate PDF files: check this box if you wish to obtain the certificate in digital form, and use the Browse… button to specify the folder on the disk in which the files should be saved.
  • Send by e-mail: check this box if you wish to send certificates by e-mail to the employees concerned. Select the e-mail destination from the pop-up menu: private or business. Use the Mail server… button to select the e-mail account to be used for sending the e-mails.

Certificates contain the salary amounts, the source tax rate and the amount of source tax deducted for the various periods (usually monthly).
