How do I activate records (highlight them) ?

Several commands in the Action (Apply, Delete, Linked records, Isolate, Hide) and File (Print) menus are best applied to activated (highlighted) records. Here is how to activate records:

 

Activate 1 record only: click on the record

 

To activate several records continuously: click on the first record. Then press the Shift key and click on the last record with this key pressed: all the records between the first and the last are also highlighted.

To activate several records discontinuously: click on the first record. Then press the Command key (Mac) or Control key (Windows) and click on the other records while holding down the key.

 

After you have activated records, it is recommended to use the Action>Isolate  command in order to create a selection of records.
