How do I use an entry template ?

Office Maker Finance in Standard and PRO versions allows you to speed up the entry of entries by using pre-defined entries templates.

The Entries Templates file contains definitions of complete or partial entries, enabling you to automate the generation of entries or to assist in the entry of new entries. A template can therefore fully define the entry in all its sections (complete template) or describe only the lines or part of the lines of an entry (partial template). It is possible to build real entry keywords for any scenario. Keywords can be attached to a template to make data entry even easier. Here are a few examples:

Pre-entry of account numbers

To make a monthly payroll entry, you can automatically generate all the lines of the entry, so that you see all the accounts to be used and only have to fill in the amounts next to each account.

Amortization entries

A template can define a periodic amortization entry. The periodicity can be monthly, for example, and the depreciation amount can be fixed or based on a formula (2% of the value of a given asset account, for example).

Analytical breakdowns

The user can fill in the first line of an entry at account and amount level, then call up a template to complete the rest of the entry. The template can contain several lines, so that the amount can be distributed over several accounts and profit/cost centers in different percentages.

Consolidation entries

A set of complex templates can be predefined to automatically distribute imported values after a consolidation import. These templates can be generated en bloc after each consolidation import.

If you have already created entries templates, you can call one in an entry by entering its code, part of its name or a keyword in the Template field. You can also click on the label of the Template field to display all available entries templates.
