How do I use enumerations ?
Once you have created enumerations, you can assign them to each of the Address records via the Enumerations tab in the creation/editing of an Address record.
A table lists the enumerations linked to the Address record. Above the table, tools are used to filter the enumerations by group and distinguish between marked (already assigned to the address record) and All enumerations.
In the table, the first column contains check marks for enumerations already linked to the address record. To link the address record to an enumeration, double-click on the enumeration. The same action removes the link between the address record and the enumeration.
If you want to link an enumeration to a large number of addresses, use the Action>Apply>Enumerations command.
Searching for addresses by their enumerations
Targeting addresses by their enumeration(s) is done in two steps:
- In the Enumerations file, search for the desired enumerations.
- Use the Action>Linked records>Addresses command (or its equivalent in the Favorites bar) to find the addresses containing these enumerations.
If you have selected multiple enumerations and want to display the addresses containing any of the enumerations, choose the Simple Relationship from the Linked Records dialog. If, on the other hand, you are looking for addresses containing ALL of the selected enumerations, choose the Multiple Relationship.
