How do I assign properties to my addresses to target them precisely ?

When the number of address records becomes large, it is more and more difficult to keep an overview and to easily target the addresses for which an advertising action would be relevant. Office Maker Business solves this problem with the help of Enumerations.

Enumerations are individual properties that you can assign to each address. You can then easily find all the addresses linked to a specific enumeration. Since you can assign an infinite number of enumerations to each address, you can also combine these enumerations to segment your customer base with great precision.

Creating Enumerations

Enumerations are saved in a file with the same name that can be accessed through the Contacts menu. Each enumeration is defined by the following fields:

  • Group: to group similar enumerations together
  • Designation: the name of the enumeration
  • Remarks
  • Blocked : if the box is checked, the enumeration can no longer be assigned to addresses

Association between enumerations and addresses

Once the enumerations have been defined, you can assign them to each of the Addresses records via the Enumerations tab in the address entry window or via the Action>Apply command.

Searching for addresses by their enumerations

Targeting addresses by their enumeration(s) is done in two steps:

  1. In the Enumerations file, search for the desired enumerations.
  2. Use the Action>Linked Records>Addresses command (or its equivalent in the Favorites bar) to find the addresses containing these enumerations.

If you have selected multiple enumerations and want to display the addresses containing any of the enumerations, choose the Simple Relationship from the Linked Records dialog. If, on the other hand, you are looking for addresses containing ALL of the selected enumerations, choose the Multiple Relationship.
