How do I get the version of Windows or macOS my computer is using ?

Here's how to find out which version of Windows or macOS is installed on your computer:

Windows

Open the Settings in the Start/Windows menu.

In the left-hand sidebar, click on System.

At the very bottom of the window, click on About.

In the Windows specifications, you get the edition (Family/Professional) and the version (for instance 24H2).

macOS

In the Apple menu (top left corner of the screen), choose About this Mac.

Under macOS, the installed version is mentioned (e.g. Sequoia 15.3).
