On-screen printing (print preview)

Your software can preview the printout of any proposed format (list, labels, etc.). To do this, simply check the Preview box available in the dialog displayed when the Print command is called.

The preview is a file in PDF format. You therefore need a printer driver that generates the PDF, as well as software capable of opening and displaying it.

On the Mac, the operating system (macOS) is able to generate PDF files. What's more, the pre-installed Preview application is capable of opening a PDF file. So there's nothing special to do. If the preview does not produce any results, please contact your IT manager for further investigation and resolution.

Under Windows, the Microsoft Print To PDF driver is installed by default. However, it may have been uninstalled or damaged. Please consult the Microsoft help pages to reinstall it.
The default setting for reading the generated PDF file is the Microsoft Edge web browser. But you can change this setting by choosing another program (e.g. a competing web browser or Adobe Reader).

If no PDF file is generated under Windows, you can proceed as follows:

  1. When printing a format, remove the tick from the Preview box.
  2. Click on the Print button.
  3. In the standard Windows print dialog, select the Microsoft Print To PDF printer.
  4. Print and save the PDF document.
  5. In the software, print again, this time checking the Preview box. This time you should get the preview as a PDF file.

These preferences are automatically saved in the software.
