Word processor sidebar: the "Layout" option

The word processor sidebar gives you numerous options for formatting your text.

It is dominated by a pop-up menu containing various options. Selecting an option changes the contents of the sidebar.

















Columns Choose the number of columns, style, thickness and color of the separation line between the columns and the horizontal spacing between the separation line and the column text. This attribute applies to the entire document.
Ruler Ruler attributes (margins, tab stops) can be copied and pasted into another paragraph.
Target Choose the target of the attributes you define below (margins, indentation, etc.): full document, section, selected paragraph, picture or text box, header or footer.
Margins

Set the size of top, bottom, left and right margins.

Indentation

Set the horizontal distance between the margin and the text, left or right.

Spacing

Set the vertical distance before or after a paragraph.

Borders

Set the thickness and style of the border, its positioning and colour.

Background

Choose the background colour or picture for the chosen target (document, section, header, footer…) and several options for cropping, repeating, aligning or resizing the picture…
