Installing several instances of Office Maker Client or BiblioMaker Client on the same computer
If several Office Maker Server or BiblioMaker Server programs have been installed on the network (either on the same computer or on different computers) and a client workstation needs to be able to connect to these different databases simultaneously, you can install several copies of the Office Maker Client or BiblioMaker Client software.
Windows | macOS |
Make a copy of the folder containing the Office Maker Client or BiblioMaker Client application, located in the C:\Program files\Office Maker\ folder. | Duplicate the Office Maker Client or BiblioMaker Client application. |
When the Office Maker Client or BiblioMaker Client software is started up for the first time, a wizard is displayed to facilitate connection to the server. This article describes this process.
Entering a favorite in one instance of the client software will cause another instance of the software on the same workstation to connect to the same database, which is not what we want. In the second instance, therefore, you need to create one (or more) other favorite(s), so that each instance can connect to a different database.
Once connected to a database, call the File>Change server command, which displays a connection dialog . In this dialog, you can create new favorites, each corresponding to a database to connect to.
