How do I change my screen resolution?
Do you find it hard to read text on your screen (because it's in tiny type) or, on the contrary, some windows take up the entire screen surface, but with objects (buttons) that disappear off-screen?
Your screen resolution may be set incorrectly. Here's how to change this setting to work more comfortably:
Windows
Open the Settings in the Start/Windows menu.
In the left-hand sidebar, click on System, then on Display.
In the Display Resolution block, choose the best resolution.
Notice
- The higher the number, the higher the resolution and therefore the smaller the text displayed.
- Whenever possible, use the recommended resolution, which will give you the sharpest image.
macOS
In the Apple menu (top left corner of the screen), choose System Settings.
In the left-hand Sidebar, click on Monitors.
Click on one of the thumbnails (each thumbnail with a text in a different size).
Notice
- Whenever possible, use the resolution by default, which will give you the sharpest image.
- To obtain resolutions in numerical form, click on one of the thumbnails while holding down the Option key.
You will find in this article the minimal resolution for our programs.
