Can the online catalog be reserved for library users only?

By default, the online catalog is available to anyone who knows its address (URL). However, a private library (e.g. a company) can restrict access to the catalog to its users only.

Here's how to protect access to the online catalog:

  1. Start up BiblioMaker or BiblioMaker Client
  2. Display the WebOPAC server settings (menu File>Maintenance, menu Other>Configure the web public search). Click on the Modify button to edit the parameters.

  3. On the Authorisations page, check the Activate private access box. Set a value in the Period of validity of a session field (this value defines the interval between two password requests for a catalog connection). Confirm the change, which will restart the WebOPAC server.

From now on, only users registered in the Addresses file (accessible via the Data menu) will be able to consult the online catalog.

Please note that registered users' records must contain a password in the Password loans field on the Additional info page of the entry screen, as this password will be required when logging on to the online catalog.
