How do I send a file to Micro Consulting ? - Knowledge Base Office Maker / BiblioMaker

When you contact Micro Consulting's Support department, the technician may ask you to send him a file (such as your data file ) for review. Here's how to send it to us:

If the file size doesn't exceed 5 MB, you can simply add it as an e-mail attachment. However, beyond this size, the file may be blocked by the e-mail server. It is therefore preferable to use a file transfer server such as Infomaniak's Swisstransfer.

Before transferring the file, it is advisable to compress it, both to save time during transfer and to ensure that the file is not damaged in transit.

On the Mac, select in the Finder the file(s) to be transferred, then select the Compress command from the File menu. The result is a file in ZIP format. We suggest you rename this file with your company name and, if it's a data file, indicate which program you're using to open it. Example: Data_Finance_Edelweiss_Company.zip

In Windows, select in File Explorer the file(s) you wish to transfer, then right-click and choose Send to>Compressed (zipped) folder. The result is a ZIP file with a zipped folder icon. We suggest you rename this file with your company name and, if it's a data file, indicate which program you're using to open it. Example: Data_Finance_Edelweiss_Company.zip

Using your web browser, connect to a file transfer site such as www.swisstransfer.com. Select the file you compressed in the previous step.

If you want Swisstransfer to send us an e-mail with a link to your file, select the E-mail tab and fill in the various fields on the form. Optionally, in the Advanced Parameters, you can set a validity and download limit, as well as a password to protect access to the file. If you set a password, you'll need to communicate it to us separately, for example with another e-mail.

If you prefer to write an e-mail yourself, select the Link tab and choose the desired options. Once the transfer is complete, the site will generate a link for you to send us to retrieve your file.

Depending on the size of the file to be transferred and the speed of your Internet connection, the transfer can take from a few seconds to several minutes.
