Sending e-mails with Infomaniak, SMTP password
In 2023, the hosting provider Infomaniak increased user account security by introducing various measures such as multi-factor authentication and distinguishing between the password used to log in to webmail and the password used by third-party applications to access email.
Therefore, if you want to send emails from Office Maker or BiblioMaker software using an Infomaniak email account created after this change, you will need to generate an additional password. Here's how to do it:
- Log in to your email account via Infomaniak's webmail.
- Click on the settings button (gear icon), then on “Devices.”
- Add a device. If you have multiple email addresses with Infomaniak, make sure you have selected the desired email account, then click Generate password.
- Copy this password (you can change it). This is the password you will need to use when setting up Office Maker or BiblioMaker.
