In the Loan management window, how do I switch the Entering status?
It is in the loan management window that you record loans, reservations, renewals and returns of documents.
The status of the current entry is displayed in the top right corner of the window. This status should be monitored at all times, as it determines the treatment of the documents you identify in this window:
| Entering status | Action |
| Loan | The titles you identify are considered as lent. |
| Remove-Return | The titles you identify are considered as returned. If it is a reservation, it will be cancelled. |
| Reservation | The titles you identify are considered as reserved. |
| Internal traffic | The titles you identify are considered as lent as "Internal traffic". |
| Renewal | The loan of the identified titles will be renewed. |
You change the Entering status with one of the following methods:
- Open the Entry menu in the Loan management window and call the corresponding command.
- Use the keyboard shortcuts listed in the Input menu.
- Scan the special barcodes on the ‘Barcode Status Reference List’ that you can print from the main Loans window.
If the Entering status is to be changed, it must be done before the document is identified.
Changing the Entering status does not require re-identification of the reader: for example, if a reader comes in with titles to return and titles to borrow, select the ‘Return-Borrow’ Entering status, record the returned titles, then select the ‘Loan’ Entering status and identify the borrowed titles.
Calling another reader does not affect the Entering status, which remains the same until it is changed.
If the current Entering status is not the correct one (e.g. it is on ‘Remove-Return’ when you actually want to register a loan), identifying a document will generate an error message (e.g. ‘No record found’) or an unwanted action (e.g. a reservation is registered instead of a loan).
