"File not found on disk" error when starting the software or opening another database
If the software doesn't automatically open your data file, or if it appears in red characters in the file open dialog, this means that its path has changed.
This happens if the shared folder (macOS) or network drive (Windows) is not accessible from your workstation, or if your database files have been moved.
When your program starts up, press and hold the SHIFT key until you are presented with the "Open database" dialog. Select the desired folder in the left-hand area, or click on Log to display databases files opened in the past.
If the file name appears in red characters, then click on the "Pencil" button below the right-hand area, then on the page icon to the right of the Location field, and navigate in the disk hierarchy to the location of your file with the xxxxx.4DD extension. The bookmark is modified and now contains the new location of the database file.
If you still get the same error message, you have the following options:
- check with your IT specialist if your server is available or if the disk hierarchy has been changed.
- contact us by booking an appointment.
