Export creditor payments "ISO Credits transfers (pain.001)", XML error

When exporting your creditor payments (export format ISO Credits transfers (pain.001))", you may encounter the error message "Invalid XML reference".

In this case, please perform the following checks in the following order:

1) In the Creditor Payments file, display the payment Type column and check that no record contains the type BCIf this is the case, the invoice that generated the payment did not contain all the information required to generate a complete and correct payment (reference line or missing IBAN/QR-IBAN, currency code, etc.).

This payment record containing this Type BC must be deleted, and you must then modify the corresponding creditor invoice record, complete it with the missing fields and generate the payment record again.

2) If no payment record contains a Type BC, the following operations must be performed:

  • Call up the Action>Linked records>Creditor invoices command.
  • Check that each linked creditor invoice contain the IBAN/QR-IBAN, Reference number, currency code…

Generate the payment record again and check its type.

3) The presence of unwanted characters in the invoice address record may also prevent the XML file from being generated and transmitted.

  • From the selection of creditor payments records, call up the Action>Linked records>Addresses command.
  • Check each address record and make sure that the Company, Last Name, First Name, Street... fields do not contain any "unwanted" characters that you may have inadvertently copied/pasted from an email, Word or Excel file...

If, despite all these checks, your XML file is still invalid, you can email it to us so that we can pass it on to our developers for verification.

Once we've analyzed this file, we'll be able to tell you what caused the error.

This analysis by our specialists is a service that will be invoiced at the usual rate, unless it is the result of a software fault.
