The Objects menu in the Layout editor

The Layout Editor's Objects menu contains the following commands:

Properties

This command displays a dialog containing various information about the selected object. The dialog is divided into various pages, accessible via tabs. The tabs displayed depend on the type of object selected.

Properties can also be accessed by double-clicking on the object.

Fonts, Size, Style, Text alignment

Select the desired value in each sub-menu to format the text of the selected object. You can also use the Properties window.

Align objects

Aligns the various selected objects in relation to each other. You can also use the alignment buttons on the palette.

Move objects

Each object in the format is on a different plane. With this command, you can move the selected object closer to the foreground or further away from it towards the background. This is particularly useful with overlapping objects.

Group

Groups several objects together. In this way, grouped objects will always have the same relative position to each other.

Ungroup

Breaks the link between previously grouped objects.

Rotation

Rotates the selected object around an axis. Use the green circle that appears when you call this command to rotate the object.

For very precise rotation of the object, it's best to use the Object Properties dialog box, which displays a Rotation field where you can define the angle of rotation to the nearest degree.

End of rotation

Select this command once the selected object has been rotated. The green circle disappears.
