Layout editor window description

When you access this module, the usual software menus are replaced by those of the layout editor, and the print format to be modified is proposed.

The editor window consists of three elements:

  • At the top, the section area. A print format is divided vertically into several zones, each containing a group of elements created with the palette. The pop-up menu above the document window indicates which section is displayed. Note that an additional section called "Background Page" is available for each format. Here you can paste an image to be printed as the background for each page in the format.
If there are no elements in the selected section, you can specify a value of 0. Of course, all objects in the section must be placed above the section's lower limit, in the white area.
  • To the left of the editing area is a row of buttons  called Tools, used to add objects to the editing area or to position objects.
  • Most of the window is taken up by the editing area, with vertical and horizontal rulers. The zero graduation is 1 cm from the edge of the page.
At the bottom of the editor are two pop-up menus, one allowing you to choose the ruler unit (pixel, inch or millimetre), the other the display magnification rate (between 10% and 800%). It also displays the coordinates of selected objects.
