The Layout editor's File menu
The format editor's File menu contains the following commands:
Save
This command saves changes made to the print format.
Save as...
This command saves the changes made to the print format to a new file.
Revert to saved
If you wish to return to the last saved version, this command cancels all changes made to the print format since it was last saved to disk.
Import…
You can replace the current print format by simply importing another format. A standard file-opening dialog allows you to select the desired format on disk.
Export…
You can create and save as many print formats as you like, exporting them to disk. You are presented with a standard file-saving dialog. Here you can specify the format name and its location on disk.
If you wish to keep it, take the precaution of exporting the current format before modifying it or creating a new one.
Page layout…
This command successively calls up the two standard dialogs, allowing you to set the various print parameters in advance.
Close
By choosing this command, you exit the format editor and return to the normal software environment, in the print dialog for the current file.
If the format you were working on has been modified since it was last saved to disk, or if it has not yet been saved, you will be asked whether you wish to keep these modifications. Click Yes if you wish to save the format.
