Installation of several Office Maker server applications on the same computer

It's perfectly possible to install different server versions of Office Maker software, such as Business, Finance and Staff, on the same server.

Installing the applications

Proceed with the installation of each software as described in this article.

Managing port numbers

Office Maker uses the TCP/IP network protocol for communication between the server and client workstations. Each Office Maker server must use a unique TCP and UDP port number to avoid conflicts. You'll find a list of the default ports used by each program in this article .

If you'd like to change the port numbers for any of the installed programs, see this article .

If you have a firewall protecting access to your server, don't forget to set it to open the TCP and UDP ports defined in the Database Settings of each Office Maker Server program. If you do not open the ports assigned to Office Maker, client workstations will be able to "see" the server, but will not be able to connect to it (error message with error no. -10'002).

Connecting to the server from the workstations

Client workstations connect to Office Maker Server using the Office Maker Client application. When connecting for the first time, the Client software displays a wizard to facilitate connection to the server. This article  describes this process.
