Coherence check on Subjects file in BiblioMaker

Here are the checks performed by the software when the Subjects checkbox is ticked in the Coherence check (accessible in Maintenance via the Other>Coherence check command):

Check of the unique occurrence of the serial number. Subjects: double serial number.

Duplicate the subject and delete the original.

Check that the subject category code exists in the Subject categories file (thesaurus module). Undefined subject category in the Subject category file. Regenerate the subjects (undefined subject categories are deleted in the subject records).
Check that the «See»-referrals do not appear in title records. Rejected subject referenced by X title(s). Search the subject record and delete its referral.
Check that the serial number of the referral is valid. Referral X has no valid type. Chercher la matière et supprimer le renvoi.
Check that the subject record does not contain a referral to a missing subject. This subject does not exist. Search the subject record and delete the referral.
Check that the subject record does not contain a referral with an invalid type. Referral X has no valid type.

Check that the subject record does not contain a referral to itself. This subject contains a referral to itself.

Search the subject record and modify its referral.

Check that the subject does not contain several referrals to the same subject. This subject contains more than one referral to the same subject.

Search the subject and delete the superfluous referrals.

Check that the subject does not contain a referral to a rejected subject (subject con- taining a «See»-referral). This subject contains a referral of type X to a rejected subject.

Search the subject record and delete the referral.

Check that the subject referred by another subject contains the cross-referral. This subject has no cross-referral.

Regenerate the subjects.

Check that the subject contains the right cross-referral (for instance, X is the Broader Term of Y, then Y should be the Narrower Term of X). Subject X refers to Y. This one has a cross-referral with a wrong type.

Search the subject record X and delete the referral to Y, then create a new referral to Y.

Check that the subject record referred by another subject does not contain double cross-referrals to the same subject. Subject X refers to Y. This one has its referral defined twice.

Regenerate the subjects.

Check that the subject containing a «See»-referral has the right referral subject tag. The rejected subject tag is not coherent.

Regenerate the subjects.

Check that the file used as a link between subjects and other files does not contain duplicate values.
