How to move the insertion point and select text during input

When a field is being entered, you can use the arrow keys on the keyboard to move the insertion point left or right, character by character. In simple, single-line fields, press the down arrow key to move the insertion point to the end of the field, and the up arrow key to move the insertion point to the beginning of the field.

To select the entire contents of the field in which the insertion point is located, choose the Select All command from the Edit menu, or use the keyboard equivalent Control A (Windows) or Command A (macOS).

Double-clicking on a word in a field selects the entire word. By pressing the Shift key, you can select the entire text between two successive clicks.
