Access to detailed display of a record: entry, modification, consultation
When you wish to modify the data of an existing record, or when you create a new record, you can access the record's fields and modify their content. A new window is displayed on top of the main window, containing the fields making up the record.
Entering a new record
To create a new record in the current file, simply select the Add command from the Action menu, or click on the corresponding button in the button bar. You can also type the keyboard equivalent Control N (Windows) or Command N (macOS).
Modifying a record
To modify one or more existing records, select the Modify command from the Action menu, or choose the Modify command from the button bar. On the keyboard, you can type the equivalent of Control M (Windows) or Command M (macOS).
When you edit a master record in multi-station mode, it is automatically locked for all other stations, to prevent two users from editing the same information at the same time. If you try to edit a locked record, it will still be displayed, but will not be editable, as indicated by the window title bar.
Viewing a record
You can also simply double-click on a line in the main window. In this case, however, the record is presented in view-only mode, as indicated by the window title bar.
To actually modify the contents of the fields, click on the Modify button in the bottom right-hand corner of the window.
