Exchange accounting data with your trustee

There are several ways of exchanging accounting data with your trustee:

By exchanging the Finance data file

You send your trustee the Finance data file (file with .4DD extension). After having opened the data file and made any changes, the trustee returns it to you.

We advise against this solution, as if you and the trustee use different versions of Finance software (e.g. 7.3r1 and 7.3r3), the company using the older version of the software will not be able to open the data file. In addition, depending on the method used, the data file may be damaged.

By exporting a text file

From the Entries file (accessible via the Data menu), call up the File>Export command and select the Chartered accountant export format. The export generates a text file (.txt extension) which you send to the trustee. The trustee imports this file via the File>Import command in the Entries file, Chartered accountant import format.

Once the corrections have been made, the trustee exports the entries using the above format and sends you the resulting text file, which you simply import into your data file.

Using the Cloud version of Finance

If you work with the Cloud version of Finance, your data is accessible to both you and your trustee. All they have to do is start up the OM Finance Client software and connect to your cloud database.

With this solution, there are no data files to transfer.

Our sales department will be happy to tell you more about our cloud solution.
