Entering Business and Enterprise Register (BUR / REE) number

In principle, every company in Switzerland has one or more BUR/REE numbers. You enter these numbers on the Data tab of the Configuration dialog, which you access via the Other button (cogwheel) on the button bar.

Since version 3.0 of the ELM standard (swissdec), a company can have several BUR/REE numbers (e.g. for its branches or agencies). These must be assigned at employee level, to enable employees to be linked to a workplace.

In these companies, in their subsidiaries or even within them, the normal working week in hours or lessons may also vary depending on the place of work. This is why it is imperative that one or more working hours can be assigned to each BUR/REE number. The indication of an address, on the other hand, is optional.

Click on the + button to add a new BUR/REE number and complete the entry in the window shown. All fields must be completed for swissdec.

You can obtain your BUR/REE number by sending a mail to infobur@bfs.admin.ch. Please give the following information:

• Company name and address
• Company Number (IDE), available at www.uid.admin.ch
• Company Number at the Central Business Name Index
