How do I find out how many times a title has been borrowed?

When weeding documents in your library, would you like to know how many times certain documents have been lent? Here's how to do it:

  1. In the Titles file, create a selection of titles to be listed (e.g. only adult novels, children's books, documentaries, or all the titles in your library).
  2. In the File menu, select Print (to obtain a printed list) or Export (to obtain a digital list that can be opened in a spreadsheet).
  3. Select the Number of loans format. In the format options, specify the desired period (one or more months or years), optionally filter by minimum and maximum number of loans. Select the type of loan (Loans, Renewals, Loans and renewals, etc.) and generate your list.
  4. If you have chosen export, you will need to specify a name for the file and a location on disk. You can then open this text file with a spreadsheet program and obtain the various data in separate columns: Shelf mark, Title, Title Number and Type, Last borrowed date and Number of loans during the selected period. You can then sort the list by any of the report columns.

On the basis of this report, you can decide whether or not to keep certain items (items that are rarely borrowed or have not been borrowed for some time will be discarded).
