Using export formats created with the Reports Editor

Once the report has been created, click on the Validate button to save it. You must specify a name for this report. This name will then appear in the export dialog in the same way as standard export formats.

You can associate a search formula with the documents you create via the Options button and the Gearwheel menu. This search will then be automatically executed when you request the document to be exported.

Export file format

The file produced is a text file. It can be read directly in a text editor (integrated word processor, Microsoft Word, Apple Pages, etc.), in a spreadsheet (Microsoft Excel, Apple Numbers, etc.) or by certain database management software (FileMaker Pro).

Data is separated by standard delimiters: fields by tabs and records by line breaks.

The text format does not preserve text typographic attributes or column widths.

Encoding

In the export dialog, the Options button lets you define the file encoding. You can choose between Unicode UTF-8, macOS Roman, Windows (ISO 8859-1) and Windows (1252).

HTML format

In the Reports Editor window, if you select the Destination>HTML File command from the context menu, the data is saved in a file that can be read by any web browser (Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, Microsoft Edge, etc.) or word processor. With this format, the typographic attributes of the text and the width of the columns are preserved.
