How do I enter a credit note for a customer ?
Entering a credit note is done from the Debtor credit notes file, accessible through the Sales menu. Call the Action>New command or the New button. If the credit note to be entered is linked to an invoice, you can enter its number: the program will retrieve the main data to fill in the credit note.
The window for entering a credit note is made up of the following main fields:
- Number (usually assigned automatically by the program)
- Date (usually the current date)
- Increment stock: if the credit note is linked to the return of goods, the stock will be updated according to the quantity of returned items.
- Subject to VAT and VAT included: these boxes are usually filled in according to the preferences of the selected customer.

- Customer code: enter the customer's code or the beginning of the customer's name preceded by a slash (e.g. /Center). If the program finds several potential customers, a selection window will appear. Once the desired customer has been selected, its address is copied to the credit note.
- Item code: Enter the code or the beginning of the short name of the item. If the program finds several articles, a selection window appears. Once the desired article is selected, complete with the quantity and a unit and change the price if necessary. Repeat the operation for each item to be mentioned in the credit note.
- Total: You can change the automatically calculated total, for example to round it up.

Once you have entered the total, validate the credit note to save it.
