Import-export format for Items "Quantities in stock"
The predefined "Quantities in stock" import and export format allows you to adjust item quantities on the basis of an inventory count.
The import/export file is in text format, with a tab mark between fields and a line feed between records. The character table can be UTF-8, Windows or macOS.
To import data into the software, the most common method is to prepare the file to be imported with a spreadsheet program such as Microsoft Excel or LibreOffice Calc, which make it easy to define the order of fields by moving columns. To this end, the first column in the table below contains the letter of the column in which the field is to appear.
Column | Field | Remark |
A | Item code | |
B | Short label | |
C | Quantity recorded at time of stocktaking |
Remarks
The first row must be a column header row. It is ignored during import.
On import, "Stock after inventory" type movements are created, preceded by a "Bonus" or "Malus" type movement when there is a difference between the quantity imported and the quantity in stock at the time of import. Previous movements are not deleted.
This import format goes hand in hand with the export format of the same name, a .csv file for use in a spreadsheet program.
If the Multistock module is enabled, the Warehouse must be selected in the import options dialog.
When an import file contains the same item several times, the quantity is cumulated.
This import format is available from version 7.1r21 of Business.
Notice : if you need more flexibility when importing a file, the Inventory import format could be your answer.
